Dear Juan Baptist, Seventeen years ago I was in NYC with some family members and we took the ferry over to the Statue of Liberty. I remember looking back in awe at the skyline and thinking how massive and powerful it was, especially with the Twin Towers standing guard of the city. Just a few weeks ago, I was on that same ferry. As we pulled away into the harbor, I looked back at the skyline and felt a knot in my stomach and an ache in my heart for all that we lost on September 11, 2001. It's hard to believe that it's been nearly 10 years since that tragic day. Even though we lost so much when the Towers fell, we as Americans never lost our hope—our hope for a better tomorrow and stronger nation. In honor of those whose lives were lost and their families, the rescue workers who fought so hard to save others, and the survivors, we at Beliefnet have created a special memorial: Fallen Towers, Rising Hope.
